As a professional forester with formal training in forestry and business management, Wayne Masur brings broad expertise to his position as director of land transactions for Westslope's eastern region, which includes Texas, Louisiana, and Minnesota. Wayne is also responsible for identifying and preparing timberland tracts for sale in his local region of Texas and Louisiana, overseeing all stages of the sales process.
Before joining Westslope in 2005, Wayne spent more than five years with Boise Cascade as a field forester, senior forester, and ultimately area manager responsible for a 169,000-acre area, some of it now in his current portfolio. At Boise Cascade, his responsibilities encompassed land management, silviculture, timber harvesting, and budgeting.
A native of central Texas, he holds BAs in finance and management from Texas A&M University. Before earning his master of agriculture degree in natural resources development (also at Texas A&M), he served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force and was an elementary school teacher in central Texas. His lifelong love of the outdoors (fishing, hunting and camping) fuels his passion for the land he represents-and for guiding his clients' sound buying decisions.
