A native of Oregon, Rod Shepard spent 29 years with Boise Cascade, holding a variety of positions including field engineer, planning manager, and logging manager. His knowledge of Oregon forestland, as well as of land surveying and boundary issues, serve him well in his role as manager of Westlope's land sales in western Oregon. Rod identifies forest tracts suitable for dwellings and prepares them for sale, a process that requires working knowledge of the state's complex land use regulation. He also works regularly with conservation groups to identify and sell them properties that are strategic to their preservation goals.
Before joining Westslope, Rod served as region manager for Forest Capital Partners, Westslope's parent company, in Monmouth. There, he helped develop the company's landscape plan for its western Oregon holdings, a plan he is now executing.
Rod's love of the backcountry gives him a special appreciation for the beauty and natural endowments of the land he represents, from the steep, thickly wooded terrain of the Cascades and Oregon's expansive coastal mountains to its pastoral valleys-property suited for outdoor enthusiasts as well as those with a passion for rural landscapes and off-the-grid living.
Rod holds an engineering degree from the Oregon Technical Institute and is a Certified Professional Land Surveyor.
