Jim Lemieux is responsible for Westslope's portfolio of properties in northern Idaho, including lands suitable for private residences and retreats as well as for resort and related development purposes.
Jim applies his extensive knowledge not only in directing clients toward the types of property best suited for their goals, but also in advising them on sustainable land management practices (and the beneficial tax programs available to those who engage in them). In keeping with Westslope's philosophy, he strives to ensure that prospective corporate buyers would be desirable partners and community members.
Before joining Westslope in 2005, Jim spent 27 years in forestry, most of that time with Louisiana Pacific. There, Jim held managerial responsibility for activities as diverse as forest management, technology implementation, experimental silviculture, business strategy and operations management, regulatory compliance and relations, reforestation initiatives, and timberland sales. He also played a leading role in the company's sustainable yield programs, as well as in spearheading and overseeing its environmental management systems to conform to Sustainable Forestry Initiative certification standards.
Jim and his family have been residents of northern Idaho for nine years. A former member of the board of directors of the California Licensed Foresters Association, Jim served as a technical advisor to the California State Board of Forestry, among other industry roles. He holds a B.S. in forestry/forest production management from Humboldt State University.
